Toyota, a Japanese automobile company began in the year 1937. Today, it is one of the foreign automobile companies, which is given America’s big three companies a run for their money. The company has also made its presence felt in other markets apart from its home country and America, which have greatly boosted the sales of the company.

From the different vehicles that the company has to offer, it is Toyota trucks which have made their presence felt in the American market. The company’s pick up trucks have gained a lot of popularity in the trucking industry, in spite of the repeated recalls which have plagued the consumers of Toyota’s products in the recent past.

A full size truck, the Toyota Tundra was first introduced in the market in 2000. This truck is considered to be one of the first brands of full size truck to be imported to the American market. The 5.7 liter V8 Toyota Tundra engine delivers a horsepower of 381 at 5,600 rpm and a torque of 401 pounds feet at 3,600 rpm. There are again four different drivetrain options to choose from, two of which range from the 5 speed to the 6 speed option. The suspension used in the Toyota Tundra is that of a coil spring; front independent double wishbone which is high mounted and has a stabilizer bar with nitrogen gas low pressure shocks. The rear suspension is that of a multi leaf trapezpoidal one.

The Toyota Tacoma is a mid sized pick up truck model. This truck was first produced in the year 1995. The truck has been named after Tacoma city in Washington, America. For these Toyota trucks, you can choose between two different engine options, the 4 cylinder 2.7 liter DOHC engine which has VVT-I, which delivers 159 hp and 10 pounds feet of torque, or the 4.0 liter V6 engine with VVT-I which delivers 236 hp and 266 pounds feet of torque.

The Toyota Tacoma has a system of four wheel drive. This is a low emission vehicle. It has a huge array of transmissions to choose from, which include two manual options and two electronic options. The Toyota Tacoma has a double wishbone coil spring front suspension and a leaf spring rear suspension, with shock absorbers of gas which are staggered mounted on the outboard.
